Webinar recording: Prioritizing for experts - Focus: Say no!

Prioritizing and focused work is essential in today's world. Who hasn't experienced this? The work never seems to end, the day has too few hours and the to-do list is longer than the Nile. But how are we supposed to manage all these tasks in a reasonable amount of time without completely losing track? The answer is simple: prioritize, delegate & say no!

But how does that actually work? How can we learn to prioritize our tasks correctly and focus on the essentials? One way is to pause and reflect: Which tasks really contribute to achieving our goals, which are more optional and which can we delegate?

Many people find it particularly difficult to delegate. We often have the feeling that we can only do everything right ourselves. But this is a fallacy. By delegating tasks, we not only free up time for other tasks, but also give others the opportunity to contribute and grow. The important thing is to give clear instructions and trust.

And then there's the famous "no". Many people also find this difficult. We have the feeling that we are causing disappointment or letting the other person down. But here too, a clear "no" is better than a half-hearted "yes", which ultimately only leads to frustration or overload. However, the "no" should also be accompanied by a reason that is understandable and shows an alternative.

Whether we delegate or say "no", it is important that we take time to set our priorities and take care of ourselves in the process. We need to learn to set boundaries and get support when we need it. This is the only way we can achieve our goals and stay physically and mentally healthy at the same time.

But how does this work in practice? How can we ensure that we really stick to our priorities? One way is to set ourselves fixed blocks of time for certain tasks and to really only concentrate on this one task within these blocks. Another option is to give ourselves breaks so that our body and mind can recover and regenerate.

The fact is: prioritizing and focused work is not rocket science, but simply requires a certain amount of self-discipline and self-reflection. If you take the time to set your priorities and take care of yourself, you will be more successful and happier in the long term - both professionally and personally.
